This drawing was requested by a sweet person outside dA :heart:

Since he likes and collects old 80's circus posters, he asked me to draw a similar theme. For this drawing I used a reference picture of a clown laying in the same pose...I've just turned him into a female and added a parrot. It was quite fun to make!

Pigment liners, colour pencils, watercolors.

As always, I'm having issues with my scanner...I can't say whether the colour correption I've made in Photoshop is good or not.

I'm happy to see you like the background: at first I planned to draw a more complex scene behind her (some sort of circus-themed background) but I gave up...I still feel very insecure at drawing bgs ^^'

I know what you mean about backgrounds. I tend to enjoy doing complex ones, but they never seem to be as popular on DA as those with plain backing. I think it must have something to do with what looks OK in the initial image size you see on DA, before you expand it and have a proper look. I guess it must have a lot to do with how big your original work is and how much impact it has when reduced to the size displayed on DA's browsing screens. I think you have the balance just right. :hug:
